At St Anne’s Church we love to worship outside. This includes noticing and being thankful for God’s creation; observing the trees, plants, birds, and insects around us, and feeling the sunshine and wind (or refreshing rain!) on our faces.
Outdoor Worship
At St Anne’s Church we are experimenting with worship outdoors in God’s creation at our local park, Western Park and our Community Allotment. These are led by the Ministry Team, particularly Reader Denis and Lay Minster John.
We have a weekly gathering at our Community Allotment a Thursday Allotment Drop In at 1.30pm. For more information about the Community Allotment contact Lay Minister John.
Our Wonderful Walks take place on the third Sunday of the month, starting at the main gates of Western Park at 9.30am. Finishing around an hour later at St Anne’s Hall for refreshments with the church congregation. The Wonderful Walks are led by Reader Denis or self led by the Walkers themselves.
Inspired by the reflective nature of the Wonderful Walks and the Community Allotment we have also recently begun our evening SoulSpace service, which aims to bring some of the outdoors inside. For more information about SoulSpace contact Rev’d Liz Wilson.
We also hold an annual Praise in the Park celebration on the afternoon first Sunday in September. Beginning with family games, our worship always ends with icecream!
