In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead
James 2:17
At St Anne’s Church our aim is to love God and love our community. We do this by sharing the good news of Jesus and putting into action our beliefs. By serving our community and caring for the environment.
Have you got time to give?
St Anne’s Church can only do the work it does serving our community because of our wonderful volunteers.
Volunteering is not just about helping the church to run, but is also about socialising, making new friends, getting some exercise, caring for God’s creation and the local community.
You might like to volunteer in our gardening team or food bank team. On a Sunday morning or for a few hours mid week.

Inclusive Church
We believe that God loves everyone, whatever their background, gender identity, sexuality, age, ability, economic power, ethnicity, learning disability, mental health or neurodiversity and do our best to show this love with everyone we meet.
We are proud to be a member of the
Inclusive Church Network.
We see caring for every person as an integral part of loving our neighbours and following God faithfully.

Eco Church
St Anne’s Church is proud to have been awarded our Silver Eco Church award from A Rocha UK. We are currently working towards our Gold Award.
Eco Church is A Rocha UK’s award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth.
Being an Eco Church helps us to express our care for God’s world in our worship and teaching; how we look after your buildings and land; in how we engage with our local community and in global campaigns, and in the personal lifestyles of our congregation.

We see caring for creation as an integral part of loving our neighbours and following God faithfully.
Email Rev’d Sharon Plant, Chair of St Anne’s Eco Church Team

We are delighted to be a Silver Eco Church, but are aware that we have more work to do to become a Gold Eco Church. This award reflects our commitment to caring for God’s creation and looking after our local environment.

Fairtrade Church

Email Rev’d Sharon Plant for more information
As part of our commitment to social justice and caring for our climate we are pleased to be a Fairtrade Church.
Buying Fairtrade means that we are supporting farmers and workers so they can improve their living standards, invest in their communities and businesses, and protect our shared environment.
Fairtrade achieves this by rallying a global community of millions – farmers and workers, supply chain partners, brands, retailers, shoppers, schools, government and churches – to pay fair prices and uphold fair production standards and practices.
Fair prices provide an immediate lifeline for farmers and workers struggling with low incomes and disadvantaged by global trade.
Leicester University Chamber Choir
St Anne’s Church is proud to support the work of Leicester University Chamber Choir (LUCC) as part of our commitment to choral music and church music.
LUCC have regular concerts at St Anne’s Church and also join us for Festival Evensong Services. We also support their work annually by providing funding as part of our work supporting a range of charitable and social organisations. See our events page for forthcoming concerts and services.

Organ Scholarships

At St Anne’s Church we have a tradition of supporting musicians in the very early steps of their musical career, with many Organists learning to play the instrument in our building. Therefore we are delighted to partner with John and Roxanne Gull in offering Organ Scholarships for young people at St Anne’s Church.
We presently have two Organ Scholars, Lizzie and Nicholas, who join us regularly to lead our sung worship.
Email John Gull or Roxanne Gull
We’re very proud of them both, and St Anne’s has played such an important role in supporting them and giving them the opportunity to develop their skills in a safe and friendly environment.
Roxanne Gull, following recent success for both Lizzie and Nicholas
Community Allotment
St Anne’s Church has recently taken on a community allotment plot at the Rancliffe Allotment Association on Boynton Road, Leicester. This is part of our Eco Church initiative and pioneering ministry.
We aim to work with members of the wider community to grow fruit and vegetables together, as we care for God’s creation and worship together. We have been delighted to welcome schools, families and church members to visit the plot, to plant, weed, water and harvest.

Food Bank
We are delighted to support Braunston Frith Food Bank by providing a weekly drop off point in Western Park for donations.
The Food Bank drop off is every Thursday 1.30-2.45pm in St Anne’s Hall.
We welcome donations of tinned and packet food, toiletries, items for babies and toddlers and fresh eggs.
Volunteers to receive the food donations and transport it to the Food Bank are always welcome.

Well-being
Caring for our mental health and well-being in increasingly an important part of our overall health.
As Christians we recognise that we all have good periods of mental health and poorer periods of mental health.
If you are finding things hard then you are not alone. We would love to offer you support, friendship and care. We are not experts so we would always guide you towards seeking professional advice in the first instance and advise you to speak to your GP and/or seek professional help from self-referral.
We have a pastoral team and a prayer ministry team and if you would like support from them, click here.
At times I struggle with my own mental health, but with support from my GP, taking therapies and the care of my church I have been able to come through the dark times.
