• Sharing God’s Love

by caring and serving our community
As disciples of Jesus our aim is to share God’s love by caring for and serving our local community. As we do this we learn as much about Jesus from the people we meet, as they may discover about Jesus from us. As we do this, we ask the ‘big questions’ in life and we wrestle with the answers!

Bible Study

Join us as we learn together what is means to be disciples of Jesus, exploring faith, friendship and stories about God together.

We host a weekly Bible Study in St Anne’s Hall on Mondays from 2-3.30pm.

We also run extra Bible Study series during the seasons of Lent, Creation and Advent. For more information contact our Lay Minister John Andrews on john.andrews4352@gmail.com.

Being With

Have you ever wondered about the meaning of life and where God might fit in?  Then the Being With course might be for you.

Being With is a ten week course, designed by St Martin in the Field Church for those with big questions and are not sure if church is relevant for them. For more information about Being With and details of when we are next running a course contact either Rev’d Sharon Plant on rev.sharon.pioneercurate@gmail.com or Reader Denis Walsh on denis.walsh1@outlook.com.

We have a number of opportunities for schools to learn about the Christian Faith.  These include.

Active Learning Sessions on Christmas, Easter and What Christians Believe.  These one-hour interactive sessions take place in church for KS1, KS2 and adaptable for SEND students.

School Assembly on Harvest, Christmas, Lent, Easter or any other part of the Christian faith.  Rev’d Liz offers 20-minute interactive assemblies for the whole school throughout the year.

Eco visit to either St Anne’s garden or the Allotment to explore nature and care for God’s creation.

For more information on our School Visits and Assemblies please contact the Vicar, Rev’d Liz Wilson on revlizwilson@gmail.com.

Caring for each other and our community is an important part of our Christian Faith.  We do this by praying, listening to each other’s problems, visiting the sick and offering Home Communion.  This is led by the Pastoral Care team and the Ministry Team. For more information about pastoral care please contact Reader Denis on denis.walsh1@outlook.com.

  • Rev’d Liz and Rev’d Sharon P. have had a busy fortnight, sharing the Holy Week and Easter story with lots of local school children.  Between them they visited six local schools for Assembly and got the children to help act out the last few days of Jesus’ life.  Riding a donkey into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday), sharing bread and wine and washing stinky feet (Maundy Thursday), dieing on the cross and being buried in a cave (Good Friday) and coming back to life again (Easter Sunday).  They also shared how a chocolate Easter egg, is like the empty tomb. Over 300 pupils also walked to St Anne’s Church to learn about the Holy Week and Easter story through hands on activities.  All the children worked really hard and one child said ”that was a good day!” at the end of her visit to church.  If you want to learn more about the Easter Story, join us for Messy Church on Saturday 19 April at 4pm in the Hall.

  • On Thursday 28 November Rev’d Liz and John Andrews (one of our lay ministers) attended a Bishop’s Study Day at St Martin’s House.  These take place twice a year. They are are an opportunity for lay ministers and clergy to come together from across the Diocese to learn from each other.  Our subject this time was Growing Faith and we were joined by pupils, teachers and school leaders. We learned about how we can support children learning about God in the school, with their family and in their church.  It was a great day and we enjoyed it!
